What have I read, watched, listened to, and considered this week? Here's a selection:

Books:

• Charles Dickens' Bleak House. I've only been reading 10-15 pages per day, but that might be appropriate since it was originally published as a serial. The Jarndyce case and the opium overdose are the two subplots that interest me; Esther, Jellyby, Ada, Richard, etc. are all fine characters but haven't truly drawn me in.

Podcasts:

• The Solid Verbal I only started listening to Dan and Ty's college football podcast last year, but I'm consistently impressed at their coverage. As a content addict, I also appreciate how they post 2-3 times per week.

• A discussion between Francis Fukuyama and Tyler Cowen on state capacity, bureaucracy, and the "deep state."
