What have I read, watched, listened to, and considered this week? Here's a selection:

Books:

• Fyodor Dostoevsky's The Idiot. I've enjoyed the first ~100 pages of this one more than War and Peace. I owe a special thanks to my girlfriend for gifting me a beautiful copy from Wordsworth Editions.

Podcasts:

• Andrej Karpathy on the Dwarkesh podcast. AI vibes have been shifting back toward bearishness, but I think Karpathy offers a reasonable perspective. I'm curious how much of an impact podcast appearances have on AI discourse. I would highly recommend Karpathy's YouTube videos on understanding and using LLMs. See also Zvi Mowshowitz's notes on this episode here.
